FLUTE GRADE 6	What’s Involved?
Up To 75 Marks For	You are required to play THREE pieces. At least two to be played with an accompaniment, either piano or CD – all books in the core syllabus come with CD backing tracks (each one attracts 25 marks) You can elect to play: all three pieces from those listed within our syllabus OR you can opt for three pieces of your own choice (please find guidance in ‘Own Choice’ Zone) OR you can mix repertoire featuring in our syllabus list combined with pieces of your own choice* (*again please visit ‘Own Choice’ Zone for guidance)
Up To 15 Marks For	TECHNICAL EXERCISE Play either ENERGETIC EARWIG and EERIE EEL (pages 21 & 22) orCOMEDY CARNIVAL IN CAIRO and CIRCLES (pages 29 & 32) from Improve your Scales Grade 4-5 (Flute) 0571-51467-7
Up To 10 Marks For	MUSICAL UNDERSTANDING Answer questions on any of the performed solos relating to pitch names of notes, note values (crotchet, minim etc.), clef, stave and bar lines, time signature and musical terms and signs (maximum five questions)
Playing Skills Guide For This Grade	Twelve-eight time / fast tempo / swung quavers / semiquavers / key signature of at least three sharps or flats / change of key signature / D.S or D.C al Coda / accents / accidentals / ornaments / triplets / playing with an accompaniment
