Up To 75 Marks For

You are required to play THREE pieces (each one attracts 25 marks)You can elect to play:
- all three pieces from those listed within our syllabus
- OR you can opt for three pieces of your own choice (*please find guidance in ‘Own Choice’ Zone)
- OR you can mix repertoire featuring in our syllabus list combined with pieces of your own choice (*again please visit ‘Own Choice’ Zone for guidance)

KEYBOARD HARMONY
KEYBOARD HARMONY
- Using three notes in the right hand and the indicated bass note in the left play the realization of the following chord symbols avoiding doubling the major third where applicable:
C/E, F/C, G/B, B♭/F, D/F♯, Bm/F♯, CM/E♭, Em/B.
- Play three diminished seventh chords from B, C and C♯, right hand only
- Play any seven of the following sixth and major seventh chords:
C6, Cmaj7, F6, Fmaj7, G6, Gmaj7, D6, Dmaj7, B♭6, B♭maj7
OR instead
PLAYING A PIECE FROM MEMORY
You can elect to play one of your chosen listed or ‘own choice’ piece from memory |

MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE
The candidate will be asked to discuss five of the following questions:
- How are the diminished, diminished sevenths named?
- Explain the terms enharmonic and half diminished chord.
- Give two reasons for using chord extensions e.g. Cmaj9 in place of C.
- What are related keys? Give examples in both major and minor keys, using both technical term and key signatures.
- Name four cadences and the chord progressions used for each.
- Explain the terms chromatic harmony and transitional modulations
- What do the signs – and + mean when used with chord symbols?

You need to use at least six of the listed functions/features of your digital piano
- Split keyboard
- Dual voice
- Rock and Honkytonk piano voices
- Piano 8va higher or lower
- Use of brilliance
- A selection of reverb types
- Use of sustain pedal
- Use of beat/style (if available)
- Use left or middle pedal
