ELECTRIC GUITAR GRADE 5	What’s Involved?
Up To 75 Marks For	You are required to play THREE pieces. At least two to be played with a backing track or click track (each one attracts 25 marks): all three pieces from those listed within our syllabus OR you can opt for three pieces of your own choice (please find guidance in ‘Own Choice’ Zone) OR you can mix repertoire featuring in our syllabus list combined with pieces of your own choice* (*again please visit ‘Own Choice’ Zone for guidance)
Up To 15 Marks For	CHORDS Play the chords of A, D and E as barred chords Demonstrate the chord progression I, II, III, IV and V in the key of G major using barre chords Play a major chord followed by an augmented chord of the same letter name e.g. C-Caug / play a chord progression that includes an augmented chord and outline any conclusions you have reached regarding this chord
Up To 10 Marks For	TUNING Tune a guitar on which three strings will need adjustment / candidates may use any preferred/practised method but should use a familiar digital tuner if opting for this means – a maximum of 2 minutes will be permitted
Playing Skills Guide For This Grade	Altered tuning / double stops / vibrato / slides and bends / pre-bends
