Nordoff Robbins
Nordoff Robbins is a music therapy charity, dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults across the U.K. They work with people with a range of challenges such as autism, dementia, mental health problems, depression and physical and learning disabilities.
Music therapy is a specialist use of music to help people in many different ways – for some it has physical benefits, for others emotional or social ones and helps many to communicate where they have struggled to do so previously.
Nordoff Robbins trains music therapists through their own Masters degree programme and each year they deliver over 50,000 music therapy sessions in schools, community centres, hospitals, care homes and their own centres. The results of music therapy can have a profound impact on individuals and their families and all those around them. As one user said recently, “I simply couldn’t live without this music every week.”
Nationwide Music Examinations are delighted to be a charity of the year partner with Nordoff Robbins and have pledged to donate £0.50p per exam entry we receive to help support their life-transforming and inspiring work. We’re also planning additional fund raising initiatives.
